Papua also famous of its abon gulung or roll sweet beef chunk, and the original of the first abon gulung is made by Hawai Bakery in Manokwari. In Jayapura one of the place to get them is at Hawai Bakery. Abon gulung is so tasty that I guarantee one is never enough. In this bakery you can enjoy the dadar gulung with a glass of hot cappuccino or latte. Perfect!

If you are looking someplace for dinner and you wanted to be something unique, this place is worth to be in your list. They served the fried chicken. But not like other fried chicken, they use the half grown chicken instead and you will get several pieces on your plate. Taste like chicken because it is chicken, but the meat is so tender melted inside your mouth. Beside the fried chicken with steam rice, the meal also come with sliced cucumbers and hot sauce.

This restaurant is consider cheap, so do not expecting too high on the atmosphere, because if you come here, you come only to eat.

This restaurant delicacy is tilapia fish BBQ, and they meant it. This is the best place in the Jayapura city to enjoy such cuisine. Tilapia is fresh water fish that usually only grow up to 1 kilogram. But here in Jayapura, this fish was kept in Sentani lake can grow up to 3 kilograms. And you will enjoy that big fish alone only for you. They serve tilapia fish BBQ with special hot and sweet sauce and with steam rice. Just don’t miss the tilapia fish BBQ if you’re visiting Jayapura city.

Nias island and Gunungsitoli city are famous of its seafood cuisine, and the best place to have fish BBQ is here. They serve red bass and best if you enjoy it with special hot-sweet sauce. The restaurant is located near the sea shore, but since this is in Nias, you will not find the fancy place to enjoy your meal. And get ready to get sweaty since the restaurant doesn’t have the AC and the climate in Nias is hot and humid.

If you are looking in Nias island for a place to sit down and chat with friends while enjoying the fried banana and a cup of coffee, this is the place. It is located in Gunungsitoli town and it is not a fancy café, but you will amaze how good their fried banana with very cheap price.

This café is open 24 hour and it is located on the main road from Parapat to Medan. So, if you are driving at night and pass this area, you should stop by to enjoy a cup of hot coffee company with roasted peanuts while enjoying the view of Lake Toba from up high. You will never get enough of the atmosphere especially if you are too sleepy to continue your trip. This 30 minutes rest will refresh your mind and body to get ready to get back hitting the road.

If you are trying to find the nice restaurant in Tarutung with good taste and you are in hurry, you should consider this restaurant. It is on the main road of Tarutung and it open until late evening. No matter what you order is, the hot fresh cooked food would be ready on your table very quick. Quicker than your mind if you want to change what you want, because even before you ask the waiter to come back to your table, your previews food is ready! They are able to serve their guests this way because they have multiple chefs and each one of them handling the different way of cooking style.

And the taste is also good. I order roasted chicken served with fried eggplants and stir-fry kangkung. This is the Muslim restaurant, so guaranteed free of pork and only serve halal food. I definitely will eat here again anytime I come to Tarutung.

Aceh’s is also famous of its sate. And the best way to enjoy them is in this restaurant. It’s a cheap eat restaurant with the expensive taste. You will eat your Sate with steam rice and the beef soup made using the beef stock. Just don’t eat this meal if your blood cholesterol level is high because you will need to see your doctor later.

The taste is just outstanding to the point that one portion is never enough!

Eat here if you like fish. The patin fish (differ from catfish) is the fresh water and rifer fish. The fish has less small fish bones compare to other fish which make them easier to eat. If it cooked in traditional way of ‘asam pedas’ or ‘sour and spicy’, one portion is never enough! Don’t worry, it’s not that hot, but rather mild and sour and I guess even Westerners are be able to eat this traditional cuisine.

This restaurant has swimming pool on their property. So you can enjoy the meal when your young children swim in the pool. The have the VIP room with AC to easy the hot climate of Pekanbaru.

When visiting Sabang and needed to have some lunch, it’s nice to do it in the traditional Aceh’s restaurant sometimes. And this place is one of not so many choices you can choose. Almost all of dish in this restaurant is made from fish. Tuna, Bass, Even Grouper. And they are fresh from the fisherman not that long ago before served in your plate.

Like a traditional restaurant, you cannot find fancy food nor drink. So you can forget about them for a while and enjoy the meal this restaurant could offers. You will like it!
