This is the second time I stayed in this hotel, and I will make sure to be the last one. I was hoping that this hotel will improve after my first visit. It became worse instead.
In my opinion, they put too much attention to make the public space look good but forget completely about the room. I'm not saying that the public space like lobby, restaurant, etc., is not important. But the room is more important because it's the place where guests spend most of their time, especially for budgeted hotel like this one. Because the reason they pick budgeted hotel is mostly just to get rest and spend the night; not to enjoy very much on public area.
They also miss leading the people about the room between the web and the reality. All the superior room in this hotel does not have the view since they are all located in the middle. All windows are not meant to be opened since all you can see outside the windows is the hall way. They failed to mention this important piece of information on their web. It surprised me when the front desk girl told me this upon checked in. I felt that I don't have any choice but to accept since it has already been paid in advanced and it was not refundable. Even if I had to down grade my room (where the room has the view), I would not get my money refunded.
To make it even worse, my room (3120) was terrible.
1. The hot shower was broken and not providing the hot water, not even until I asked the technician to take a look at it and told me that the water heater upstairs was off. I spent 10 minutes wasting water before I called, hopping that the water would finally turned warmer.
2. The floor drain was broken and cost flood in my shower cubicle to the point that almost entering the room main floor. Not until I asked the technician to take a look at it and removed the filter from the drain.
3. The water plug of wash table was broken to the point that it took 3-4 minutes to empty the wash table. You know what? I didn't call the technician and decided to live with it!
4. The wall of my room was dirty and full of brown and dark spots. I wonder when would they wanted to repaint it...
I would had given the 'terrible rating' but thanks god, they still have one thing to reduce my misery. The breakfast was better this time. I had “lontong sayur with semur tahu-telor” (rice cake soup with sweet egg-tofu stew) of traditional Betawi/Jakarta breakfast. The taste was consider good and beyond my expectation. This breakfast save this review and get 'poor rating' instead.
