This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, right? But when I got there, it didn't feel like a 5-star hotel. We booked this hotel using HotelClub, but when we checked in, the staff at the front desk did not know anything about HotelClub and told us that we still need to pay the for the room. After about 10 minutes and she had serious discussion with the manager, the manager finally came to us and apologize. This is very odd for the hotel with name as big as JW Marriott.
We finally got in to our room. The room was OK, with a nice comfy bed, but I think this room is entitled to get refurnished, since it looked very old with old furniture.
And another thing came to my attention is the hot shower. Sometimes we did not get a proper hot water, in fact that night I had a rather cold shower, while I dreamed to get nice hot shower in the 5-star hotel. The hot shower in the bath tab sometimes good, but on the shower room, it never got hotter until the day we checked out.
The pluses of this hotel is location and the swimming pool area. Location is in the heart of Surabaya near Tunjungan Plaza, the largest shopping mall in Surabaya. The swimming pool is nice and it has kids pool on the corner of main pool and… that’s it. One more thing, In my opinion, it would have been nicer if this hotel has a children play room.
