The first good things of this hotel is its location since it's in the city center. You have famous "Merdeka Walk", the culinary center just across the street. The famous Old Post Office Building is also in short walk distance. And if you like jogging, the oval jogging track is just behind the "Merdeka Walk".
The second good things is breakfast, but sadly also is this hotel bad thing. You can enjoy many choices or you can just taste them all. Traditional Medan cuisine, Indonesian menu, American Breakfast, Dimsum, even Japanese. And you have to take lots of papaya and pineapple since Medan is famous of its papaya and pineapple. You know it's different than other papaya or pineapple you tasted before, after you have them. As I said, the breakfast also this hotel bad thing... at least when I stayed there, almost of all the Indonesian food in the menu are too salty. May be I wasn’t so lucky.
The third good thing is the room (and also another bad). Nice bed, good sleep, very high Wi-Fi connection, integrated room ambiance control system in one panel near the bed. But for the room this good, the bathroom is just standard and no bath tub. The TV channels collection is also limited. It looks like it has a lot of channel, but most of them are local free channels with bunch of commercials. Other than that (correct me if I'm wrong), it only has 3 news channels, one sport channel, one children channel, 2 movie channels, and few other usual channels. Usually for the hotel this caliber at least the TV in the room has more than 50 channels.
But, if you just staying for one night like I did, and didn't have much time to stay in the room, this hotel is more than good to be in your list. It's not just the best and just don't get too many of those Indonesian food or your blood pressure will rise :)
Room Tip: Ask the room that has main street view.
